Review of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009) by Wesley G — 11 Oct 2009
I feel that this movie had potential, and instead the writers came up with this sorry plot. The only thing this movie had going for it was the fight choregraphy. I really want to know why Liu Kang (sorry I meant Robin Shou), Chris Klein, and Michael Clarke Duncan opted to be in this.
Robin Shou should stick with Mortal Kombat. He's excellent as Liu Kang in that franchise. When was Balrog ever bad or working for Bison? Bison was just a guy in a suit. He's General M. Bison, so he's the leader of some army of sorts, not a businessman.
Vega was a complete joke. The whole bit with the Interpol and Bangkok police could have been left out. As I said, lots of potential, instead, time and money wasted.
