Review of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009) by Nikolaj Z — 05 Jan 2011
"You're just like your father, he would stand when standing was not easy.".
After watching the original Street Fighter movie, this is pretty much what I expected from another Street Fighter film, especially when my friend described that Michael Clarke Duncan and Neal McDonough would be acting in it (that was the pitch that enticed me into seeing it).
(Do I have to explain why this movie sucks?).
With all the bad acting/reaction shots, there was a pleasant surprise in store for me and my friends: Chris Klein's role as Nash. - I would love to see a spin-off movie focusing soley on Chris Klein as this character.
If you enjoyed the first Street Fighter, you should have no qualms with this next installment (aside from the fact that there is SO much less of a budget in costume, set-design, special effects, explosives, music, etc.) Good storytelling (or bad) doesn't require flare or props.
"It had to be done.".
