Review of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009) by Kyle S — 27 May 2010
This movie had the potential to be like X-Men Wolverine, beginning a long line of specific character movies that were awesome and let us into the storylines of each unique Street Fighter character. That potential is completely gone within 10-15 minutes of the movie.
First of all, the cast has a somewhat serious Chris Klein, which just doesn't work. Kristin Kreuk isn't really hot enough to excite anyone (at times, her eyes/hair look amazing). Moon Bloodgood looks good, Robin Shou is 15 years past his prime and Neal McDonough plays a horrible M. Bison. Michael Clarke Duncan as Balrog - enough said. Taboo (Black Eyed Peas) as Vega!!! AHHH!!!
The movie sucks all the way through. The plot is bad, the script is bad, the jokes are bad, the fight scenes are bad, etc. The movies tries way too hard to replicate the video game at times and it?s just laughable.
Overall, I would rather watch the Van Damne Street Fighter any day of the week!
