Review of Street Fighter (1994) by Arsev A — 06 Jan 2010
Awful. I know, I know but my expectations were really low. I just hoped to see a couple of good martial arts scenes, that's all and we were not even provided one good scene. The movie is based on one of the most popular arcade games ever and I'd rather watch the demo game instead of this painful rubbish. I'm used to terrible plots, bad acting, illogical & unrealistic things yet there is one thing I can't stand in such movies: bad martial art scenes. Ryu and Ken can't fight, they're like two good looking yellow belts; Honda is just fat, not a Sumo Wrestler; Zangief is so stupid; Blanca's make-up is worse than Halloween costumes; Guile (Van Damme) is in his most irritating performance; Bison is ridiculous and so on. All have one thing in common: they can't fight! Words are not capable enough to describe how horrible this movie was.
The only good thing I remember is young and beautiful Ming Na. I should also mention that this movie ended Kylie Minogue's acting career.
