Review of Strays (1997) by Travis L — 11 Feb 2008
Firstly, I think some ppl may be disappointed in seeing vin in this type of role simply bc ppl are used to seeing him act a particular type of character. however, I think this movie is pretty good. the story is realistic and touches issues that may be difficult to deal with.
unfortunately, I dont think the heather girl did a good job acting. she definitely looked the part and some parts worked when she was working with diesel, but parts when she was on her own I was not feeling a rhythm.
vin did a fantastic job towards the end when he expresses his anger to what he has become and what he may have influenced his friends to do. I had to take a step back. I think that his character and heather's character juxtaposed further shows his violent nature.
seing his character evolve from this macho man to somone who is still a man but leaves the macho behind finding himself to be more scrupulous. it's nice to see vin outside a role of what others may expect him to be.
