Review of Strawberry and Chocolate (1993) by Stephen V — 19 Aug 2007
An excellent movie which has a special historical importance to Cuba because it came out right at the time when work was being started in that country to begin fighting homophobia. I believe it was the same year that drag queens actually marched at the front of the May Day parade.
At any rate, the work has paid off as the National Assembly of People's Power is currently in the process of legalizing same sex partnerships, putting Cuba years ahead of the vast majority of the worlds countries on this issue.
A must see movie.
