Review of Straw Dogs (2011) by Ashley G — 03 Oct 2011
I like James Marsden, Kate Bosworth, and James Woods. This movie had the makings of a tried and true revenge story. Somewhere, this becomes the most convoluted, tedious storyline in recent memory. They veer off their path and introduce a completely irrelevant storyline. What makes this more infuriating is that they not only fail to tie it in, they abandon the original storyline. The casting couldn't have been worse in this movie, with the painfully inept acting of Alexander Skarsgard rivaled only by the absurdity that this Armani model-esque looking guy would somehow be the leader of these sweaty, toothless hillbillies. But his douche-chill inducing performance isn't a lock for worst performance, as Dominic Purcell calls in the saddest "mentally-challenged adult" performance since Ben Stiller in Tropic Thunder.
Nonsense, and not in a way to make fun of and laugh...
