Review of Straw Dogs (2011) by George F — 28 Oct 2011

Its weird, seeing the trailer I was kinda pumped for Straw Dogs...and even after watching it, I feel like there was a really good movie to be remade here...it just wasn't done well...it needed the level of realistic violence of a 'Drive' or 'History of Violence' and it needed the standoff at the end to be the entire last third of the movie.

..also, the "breaking point" the tagline promotes, is completely unfounded, unjustified and underplayed...the actors aren't terribly, the movie is just really slowly paced, really underwhelming and the worst part of all is that like I said, there should be a legitimately good movie in there somewhere that just got missed.

..and I'm betting when I get to go back and watch the original, I'll find the good movie right there waiting for me : ).
