Review of Straw Dogs (2011) by Justin M — 10 Dec 2011
Reading the synopsis and checking the trailer set this up to be 2 hours well spent. Boy was I wrong! I loved the opening scene and smiled with anticipation for the scenes to follow, only to have that smile turned upside down. The best you could say is it's a remake and that it does have an end. But its between start and end where the problems lie.
Lead character need some driving lessons. Getting into 3 car accidents within 2 days? Also the movie is set in the deep deep south. Were shown all the classic signs of being rednecks. Sleeveless shirts, camo on everything, pick up trucks galore, hunting, and even going to church with blacks and not hating them. LOL!
All in all this is a refurbished and sweetened version of a pretty good 60's flick. If you do take part, disable the eject button because your going to be using it often otherwise.
