If this is a remake of the original, then the original is a very bad movie as well. It takes a while to get going, and it has some really awkward moments that just don't make sense. It's one of those films that if the characters just open their mouth(s) and say something, the problem wouldn't escalate.
Makes it frustrating to watch.
