Spellbinding, gritty, violent remake of the 70's version. I can't compare it to its earlier version, but I am intrigued now to check it out. James Wood is compelling, as usual, portraying a nasty shell of a human being whose fate nobody will mind.
You do have to let your imagination figure out the conclusion, but it is a decent and very exciting ending. Be prepared, cuz it's gonna get gross!
