Review of Straw Dogs (1971) by Michael K — 20 Jan 2008
Another masterpiece from the great Sam Peckinpah. Straw Dogs is one of the most powerful, challenging films from the 70's and one of the best. Dustin Hoffman gives the performance of his career as David Sumner and Susan George is similarly excellent as his wife Amy.
It's a take no prisoners piece of filmmaking and is all the better for it. The final scene is unforgettably chilling.
