Review of Straw Dogs (1971) by Ben C — 01 Jul 2012
Sexual violence in cinema never surpasses a disdainful response by me as an excuse for some sod's masturbation material, and so I find it hard to admire the filmmaker's audacity to cause such controversy in that respect, irregardless of how some filmmakers feel about needing to cause a stir in order to be "groundbreaking".
However, I can approve of the protagonist's response and subsequent character development which makes the conclusion of this film somewhat worthwhile.
