Review of Straw Dogs (1971) by Alex B — 16 Nov 2010
A movie about an American mathematician in a made up field gets a grant to work in England and runs into a bit of trouble with the locals. It felt to me to be the movie equivalent of "Catcher in the Rye", if only in the sense of that it may have been considered controversial at one point but by today's standards it's pretty tame.
The movie is just under two hours and drags, too much build up to a very weak reward.
