Review of Straw Dogs (1971) by Deadly V — 06 Jun 2008
Wow.
For the record, this is my first Peckinpah movie, and what a movie it is!!!
Thing is, the movie has a solid script, giving the theory that human cruelty is showed in the everyday world, in a rathre crude way. This theory is quite well showed in the movie, and it does has its really intense scenes to prove the point. The movie shows off, too, the violence in the common day.
Dustin Hoffman delivers a wonderful performance as the american nerdy-geeky teacher that discovers his violent side, and Susan George gives a good performance as Hoffman's provocative and abused wife.
Really shocking, yet excellent.
