Review of Stranger Than Paradise (1984) by Anabela K — 05 Jul 2007
My favourite Jarmusch flick....gorgeous black and white with subtle performances and awesome hats. Being compared to Cassavetes doesn't really fly with me as Jarmusch offers something completely different in the way of lightheartedness (JC IS Christ though, just in case you think I'm slaggin him, which I'm not).
This film captures innocence and every young, hip creature's desire to escape boredom with genuine understanding. Can't wait to see the criterion edition.
