Review of Stranger Than Paradise (1984) by Monica F — 03 Apr 2008
I really loved this movie. I agree with other commentaries: it is about nothing. But like great movies without apparent topic, this one reflects exactly the absurdity and nothingness of real life. Great performances, good use of the landscapes and spaces to show how all is the same.
I really like their clothing, it seems they are dangerous gangsters but with a rocker soul! This movie gives me the same feeling as Straight Story by David Lynch, although very different context and texture, it is the same appearance that nothing is going on, but at the end an extremely satisfying experience!!
