Review of Stranger Than Paradise (1984) by Edo Z — 01 Oct 2008
This is the first Jarmusch movie I've seen, and I hope I see more. I found this tale to be completely fascinating, and that opening shot with Eszter Balint standing on the right of the frame, with the plane in the upper lefthand corner was beautiful.
The photography is fucking astounding. I liked how Lurie's character was a man who hated change, until his cousin comes and stays at his house for a few days. After that, he can't get enough of her since it created quite an impact on his tedious, every day life.
Stranger Than Paradise is a beautiful film and a feast for the eyes.
