Review of Stranger Than Paradise (1984) by Paul P — 20 Apr 2010
People say the story is too minimalist for them. It moves too slow and has too many "nothing" moments. I see all those issues. But the mood and tone of this flick are just delightful. The dialogue, characters and performances have this slice of life quality without being mind numbingly boring.
All the trademark Jarmusch touches are here, the dead-pan comedy, the infinite coolness, perfect use of music and the ability to grow on you and get better with repeated viewings.
