Review of Stranger Than Fiction (2007) by Adam C — 13 Jun 2011
Sets itself with high expectations, and with a good number of hooks and twists, it poetically delivers. Foster directs with some of the most precise beats I've ever seen. We're led (or misled) to believe it's prophetic, which keeps us guessing and asking questions all throughout; the good news is that answers are provided eloquently, not feeling like they're being jerked out.
What gets me thinking most is just how powerful this tool of cinema really is. We wouldn't give characters like these the time of day in real life, but in the cinema we're enticed.
