Great straight man performance by Will Ferrell, cool effects and music and personality to the movie. But the story fell a little flat, if you had to change your story to save a real persons life, why not just do it.
Unless you are writing or horror story or something it'll go over just fine. And what kind of great author kills their main character in every book anyway? That's a cop-out when you are out of ideas and the character wasn't strong enough for a sequel.
