Review of Stranger Than Fiction (2006) by Luke M — 24 Apr 2011
What if you were a writer and one of your fictional characters turned up on your doorstep? And what if you were a character in someone else's book and the writer's voice was in your head?
Emma Thompson and Will Ferrell are forced to deal with this bizarre fictional reality in Stranger than Fiction.
The premise is intriguing and thought provoking, but the analytical breakdown of plot, character, and narrative make the film more academic than entertaining.
This film is far better suited to a University MFA class than a picture theatre.
Harold Crick: "This may sound like gibberish to you, but I think I'm in a tragedy.".
