Review of Stranger Than Fiction (2006) by Simon D — 17 May 2012
Stranger than Fiction had a lot of potential. The film was visually intriguing, funny and had heart, but unfortunately it had Will Ferrell as it's lead protagonist who's presence drains the film from it's aforementioned qualities.
A recast of his role would have made this a great film. The performance of Ferrell's co-stars however were superb, most notably Emma Thomson and Dustin Hoffman who saved this film from being a complete disaster.
Aside from Ferrell's presence the film was well written by Zach Helm and well directed by Marc Forster. It's worth a watch.
