Review of Stranger Than Fiction (2006) by Alexander C — 07 Dec 2012
Dr. Jules Hilbert: Have you met anyone recently who might loathe the very core of you?
Harold Crick: I just started auditing a woman who told me to get bent.
Dr. Jules Hilbert: Well, that sounds like a comedy. Try to develop that.
Will Ferrell plays Harold Crick a boring dull IRS auditor with mathematical skills who hears a voice in his head one day. It's a different role for Ferrell who usually annoys me in his films yet I like him in this.
Maggie Gyllenhaal as Ana Pascal who is an opposite of Harold and a love interest. She seems a reasonable actress from the few films ive seen of her.
Dustin Hoffman who is Harold's Doctor Professor Jules Hilbert who helps him with his voice problem.
Emma Thompson plays Karen Eiffel/Narrator who plays a sick yet funny writer in need of inspiration.
Some funny scenes and good concepts.
Similar to:
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.
Interesting ideas but ends up being only great in areas, with some funny moments.
