Review of Stranger in Our House (1979) by Morten Ø — 21 May 2009
This is an overlooked Craven movie. It's pretty damn good actually. It's one of those horror movies that doesn't show any real violence, but instead focuses on the psychical aspects. And it treats these psychical with a lot of tension and akward scenes. Lee Purcell (playing a strange cusine) practically steals Linda Blair's identity. Linda Blair's mission is to show her closest that Lee Purcell is an evil witch, but with everyone (including her own family) finding Purcell to be a sweetheard this gets diffelcult.
The movie is packed with erotic undetones with some of them being more obscure than others. This movie is watchable!
