I think this might be the first noir movie about gay relationships, and the first movie to say (Love is Blind) even for homosexuals. Alain Guiraudie is digging deeply in the nature of emotions in a very exciting way to confirm that love is love whatever it was coming out even LGBT people, It's widely explicit, but not bothering. We used to see LGBT movies working in narrow places afraid of others eyes like "Claustrophobia". No.. This is something different!

Well, if you see it like a gay disgusting film, a blowjob or a long video about masturbation, you're definitely wrong. Gay pornography which shown here is only the entrance to understand the function the story want to tell without a lot of dialogues. You will not go on thinking disturbed of nudity after the crime happened, but you will think about the ability to be attracted to dangerous people, and their reaction when they discover that we know, It goes in Hitchcockian or controversial sense looking a bit slow, with an open aggravating end, as a complex fight between love or life.

With its repetitive structure, photography was great with lovely one location around the lake. The sunlight made the full needed illuminating, and the night made the full needed fear for crimes! Directed so masterfully and heartily with good brave performances. People are usually used to accept lesbian relationships to watch that explicitly, no matter, please consider it like the flip side to "Blue Is the Warmest Color"!
