It is awfully explicit for better and for worse and the ending is somewhat hard to believe, but Stranger by the Lake is an exceptional and bold film nonetheless thanks realistic approach, very good acting, engaging story and perceptive look at gay promiscuity, the one which is incredibly truthful and relevant.
