Review of Strange Magic (2015) by Clu D — 26 Jan 2015

I hate saying 'if you're into it' even if it's true. I feel like -to appreciate this film like I've been - you have to be into A) Animation (because the designs and shading and animation are pretty) B) Musicals, especially jukebox ones [though the songs fit well enough] and C) Fairy tales and depictions of the fae in general.

Or perhaps all of those. :P.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did and I feel that's more the marketing's fault. As much as I can see the flaws in it, there's enough potential there and enjoyable things that I can't help falling for it ;).

Doesn't hurt that I recognized most of the songs, either.

I love when films surprise me in a positive way, and this one turned out to be if notentirely right up my alley... my alley-adjacent.
