Review of Strange Magic (2015) by Faisal Y — 04 Oct 2017
The movie doesn't not deserve an 18% at the time of my writing. Don't get me wrong the first two thirds are weak and not very adeptly written or directed. The songs are not transitioned into and they seem to sing about anything.
However the last third is a competent production and the core message atleast in the bog king Marian romance is at times Baeuty and the beast. The movie shows that trust and real romantic attachment can provide another perspective on whats ugly and whats attttractive.
This works especially well since there is no magic spell and the bog king will always be the bog king. Not an objectively good movie but theres enough there that I would recommend it for a family movie night.
