Review of Strange Behavior (1981) by Craig B — 04 Apr 2009
Strange Behavior (1981) -- [4.0] -- I'm all for doctors performing scary experiments on teenagers (loved the later "Disturbing Behavior"), but this movie bored me to distraction. The budget must have been really, really tight, because the whole movie plays out in wide shots -- not very visually interesting.
Tangerine Dream's music was the only aesthetic contribution to any semblance of mood or atmosphere. (Fortunately, co-writer Bill Condon would later go on to write "Chicago", and direct "Gods and Monsters" and "Dreamgirls".
