Review of Straight to Hell (1987) by Kevin D — 17 Aug 2007

Punk Western way off the beaten track, a genuine cult movie. Dick Rude and Joe Strummer are very naturalistic and believable for non-actors and Sy Richardson is super-cool. Really interesting cast includes Elvis Costello, the Pogues, Amazulu, Kathy Burke, a really irritating Courtney Love, and a brief passing-through cameo from Grace Jones and Dennis Hopper.

It goes without saying that Quentin Tarantino has blatantly borrowed some ideas from this film and Repo Man.
