Review of Straight Outta Compton (2015) by Patrick F — 20 Jan 2016

I was very worried about this film before I saw much about it. I thought the idea was fantastic and thought it could either be great or terrible, but 'Straight Outta Compton' was very well made and ended up being one of my favorite films of 2015.

The film does cover a lot of ground and probably could have even been longer (the filmmakers probably could have cut it in half and made two films if they would have known how successful this film would be).

The performances are top notch by everyone involved, even Ice Cube's son played his father very well. I also loved Snoop Dogg in this, even though it wasn't a huge role. The film is a lot of fun, especially since I loved the music growing up.

Overall, 'Straight Outta Compton' was a great film and I think I would have liked it even if I didn't love the music as much as I did.
