Review of Straight Outta Compton (2015) by Spencer K — 07 Mar 2016
I'm a huge fan of N.W.A. and when I heard there was going to be a biopic I was pumped. and WOW this movie floored me. good lord, I wasn't expecting this movie to be this amazing. the stars who portray these rappers absolutely transform into their parts.
they kill it here and I'll be glad to see anything else these talented young actors do. the directing is great, too. F. Gary Gray pulls viewers into Compton and makes us feel like we're actually there with these characters.
when N.W.A. is performing, I felt like I was there, the music is hype and it made me feel like I was watching an actual concert it was amazing. I don't think this movie could have been any better.
it was a raw, emotional, hype, epic film and one of the best biopics I've ever seen and the best film about rappers ever. this is a movie that must be seen, not only to fully realize what N.W.A. did for music, but to see the side of police brutality these guys felt firsthand and to see a group come together as a family by the power of music and rap.
my second favorite film of this year and will go down as one of my favorite films of all time. I absolutely loved this film. please see this.
