Review of Straight Outta Compton (2015) by Isadore H — 06 Nov 2016

Straight Outta Compton is a mesmerizing tale of NWA and the beginning of 'gangster rap'. I was absolutely entertained through all of the film. The performances were all great, I thought Ice Cubes son was especially great in his role.

Filled with disturbing scenes of blatant racism, and seeing these characters struggle with borderline poverty growing up was hard to watch. However, watching these young men overcome these obstacles was very satisfying and a bittersweet tale of success at the cost of some friendships that ended far too soon.
