Review of Straight Outta Compton (2015) by Ted W — 02 Aug 2017
Interesting at times, the story of NWA could have been a really great film, but this one lacks the narrative thread to hold it together. Dre seems to be the only likable guy in the bunch and the story hammers home the fact that you can make millions in the "music" industry with no talent and the right image.
Lest I sound racist in this assessment, I'd put Jim Morrison front and center in that ranking.
