Review of Storytelling (2001) by Rodney E — 04 Aug 2008
Todd Solondz gives another one of his trademark offbeat and twisted offerings by creating a meta work on the whole creative process.
I got the whole creative process of the Fiction part but felt that it was shocking for the sake of shocking. It did capture a creative writing class very well.
The non fiction part is what makes the movie and offers good work by Paul Giametti and John Goodman. The youngest son was slightly annoying at times but I enjoyed him more as everything progressed. A cameo by Conan O'Brien is a highlight.
