Better than it should be, but quite uneven and more a series of gags (of varying success) wrapped around a very basic plot.
Writer/director Nick Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) manages a few emotional moments that don't seem contrived but are undercut by a film that does not fully engage the audience or itself.
