I saw an advanced screening and outside of the stellar animation and a couple good laughs, there's nothing really remarkable in the movie. It feels like someone saw the Lego Movie and assumed that the only thing you need to make a story is be snarky and self-aware.
Which this film is, but it's not all that clever about it either. Most of the actors do their best to make up for weak material but it just doesn't work. It also may contain one of the most obnoxious side characters ever with that pidgeon, a one joke character who is never funny.
