Review of Stories We Tell (2012) by Brendan O — 04 Jun 2013
I've heard the wonderful Sarah Polley talk about her fear that this film might end up seeming self-indulgent and her many efforts to temper that. Well, I'm not sure she succeeds at all, but I am also not sure it matters.
The movie, however overtly and specifically personal it gets, raises so many good n big questions about the vagary of memory and the elusiveness of truth that it's emotional power cannot be denied.
