Review of Storage 24 (2012) by Cody M — 02 Jan 2013
Uneven sci-fi horror flick in which a hideous alien monster interrupts a former couple's plans to split their possessions while trapped in the titles storage warehouse. In between bickering, they must figure out away to survive the night and escape before they are slaughtered.
Based on a story by star Noel Clarke, the movie does its best to create atmosphere and tension and delivers some gory moments, but is hampered somewhat by a location in which every set looks more or less the same.
However the biggest problem is that hero Clarke's character is such a whiny git that it defeats the actor's natural charisma, while Colin O'Donoghue does well at first until the script forces him to take an illogical twist.
With better characters and some better set design, this could have been a fun, bloody diversion. Final shot is unintentionally hilarious.
