Review of Stop-Loss (2008) by Eddie B — 09 Sep 2008
The message is pure but the execution is a bit flawed. You go through this entire emotional journey only to arrive at the ending which isn't very creative. Ryan puts in a solid performance but I felt that many scenes were drawn out far too long and the editing could have been much better.
For example, the film goes from one scene where Ryan's character is about to cross into Canada from New York and then all of a sudden he is back in Texas which doesn't make any sense considering he only had a motorcycle and couldn't fly.
..etc. Overall, this film is barely worth the rental and only because of the horrible situation (military stop losses) at issue.
