Review of Stop-Loss (2008) by Mary R — 10 Jul 2009
This is a different sort of war movie - focusing on the psychological trauma that soldiers go through on and off the battlefield. It's not about selfless heroics here - it's about a soldier who runs away.
.. it highlights the humanity of the soldiers despite the inhumanity of what they are put through in the line of duty including strain on family and relationships. Ryan Phillippe is back in good form here - this may be his best performance yet.
Also good is Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Worth a watch!
