Review of Stop-Loss (2008) by Nathan H — 08 Sep 2008
It started out a little too MTV-y (jarring music, fast edits, handheld camera) and formulaic (picture "Varsity Blues: Camo") for me. I was worried I'd enjoy this film about as much as Reese Witherspoon would.
In the end (and after watching the DVD bonus features), I understood the intention of the filmmakers, to respectfully expose just one more sad fact of this war from the perspective of the soldier. It's hard to pass judgement on that.
