Review of Stop-Loss (2008) by Keita S — 08 Jan 2009
It's a film about soldiers who are stop-lost, which means they are sent right back out onto another tour after completing what was supposed to be their last. Ryan Phillipe plays a soldier who is stop-lost.
He's very good, and he pulls his weight in the film. However, the film was a little too preachy at times, and continues to drive into us just how bad the war is. I sort of got tired of it in the end.
I will say that Joseph Gorden-Levitt, who plays one of his friends, continues to show me that he's one of the great underrated actors of this generation. Just read my review of the "The Lookout".
