Review of Stop-Loss (2008) by Lee G — 28 Jan 2009
This film is fairly predictable, and the big question is what the central character will do. I think I'd probably do the same in his shoes. However, the performances are strong and the movie gives an interesting view how the US government treats soldiers who chose to fight for their country.
After they've had enough and want out, their right to choose is taken away. The only winner here is the US government at the expense of the soldier. The choice is to fight a war they no longer believe in, or go AWOL and lose their freedom, family, everything, and face jail time.
