Review of Stop-Loss (2008) by Craig R — 23 May 2009
First, I have to say that I didn't finish watching this movie, so my review is based on only about the first hour. The Netflix disk was damaged and kept skipping, finally causing the DVD player to crap out altogether and refuse to continue. Annoying? Yes.
But instead of requesting another copy, I decided just to let it go. It's not that what we saw was bad, exactly, and the scenes in Iraq were very good, but the whole plot seemed really tired -- have we not already seen the same thing, done so many times before, about the struggles of soldiers coming back from war? I didn't think it was worth my time to finish watching yet another version of a very typical story, tragic as it is.
