Review of Stop-Loss (2008) by Max F — 20 Aug 2009
Obviously, I am not a soldier. I don't want to be a soldier. I'm not planning on becoming a soldier. But the way this movie portrays the 'rotating back to the real world' aspect of being a soldier seems dead on to me.
Now, this movie has simple messages and isn't preachy about war or anything like that. It does focus on the concept of stop-loss, which from Ryan P's characters perspective, is a bunch of BS. The ending is pointless IMO. Channing Tatum and Ryan P overact in several scenes (this is a MTV movie production after all), but overall, its an entertaining movie if nothing at all is on.
