Review of Stop-Loss (2008) by Tuukka P — 03 Oct 2009
Another Iraq war drama which takes place mostly on US soil. The practise of stop-loss (sending just released US soldiers back to service) is shown as a way to circumvent draft (which it is) and the reactions to it seem reasonable.
Young cast led by Philippe gives nice performances but overall the movie could have used a little more to-the-point approach. Part road movie part war movie part cliched going-back-home-and-visiting-wounded-fellow-soldiers drama.
