Review of Stop-Loss (2008) by Adam L — 12 Nov 2009
An interesting story from soldiers' point of views. Touches the lives of U.S. soldiers return home from fighting in Iraq. Usually upon returning from a war, these guys are really messed up. Post traumatic stress were common.
No armed structured discipline, the boys gets restless. Stop loss also focuses on a government practice of retaining soldiers beyond their expected term, even when their tour of duty ends, they were sent back and many decides to go AWOL.
Its either Iraq or jail. Can you imagine that some opted for the slammer than going back to the hellish nightmare of Iraq. It is not an overly emotional story, it is a document of the struggles of those fighting the external war in Iraq while battling their own inner demons.
