Stone is to the fictitious religion Zukangor as Battlefield Earth is to Scientology. If only Zukangor were real, I'm sure they would have been happy to finance this cinematic equivalent of a pamplet declaring the link between God and bumblebees.
In fairness, Robert De Niro is pretty solid, but the other performances are miscast and misfired. It was entertaining enough, albeit flawed, but by the end, the message of the whole thing was simply overdone and borderline enraging.
